This course introduces data as a source for storytelling and teaches students how to build a compelling narrative that drives business decisions using the power of data storytelling. Learn storytelling concepts, narrative theories, and performance techniques to develop data stories from real datasets. Gain insights into how best to design graphs and construct compelling, logically sound, data-driven presentations for varied audiences. Engage with the science of communicating to others for understanding, and to inspire action.
This course uses Tableau, the industry leading data visualization software, basic design principles, and a no-code approach to storytelling to transform data points into powerful visuals. No experience with Tableau is required for this course, however students should be comfortable exploring and learning new software.
